Does your tv have an optical or coaxial audio output connection/s? You might try to hook that up to the Yamaha.
I have a set of Sennheiser RS140 wireless headphones that I use with my home theatre system for watching TV after the kids go to bed. The base unit connects with a standard audio cable. I recently upgraded my receiver to a Yamaha RX-V565 in order to have HDMI switching capability. I thought that I could plug in the headphones to the audio out jacks on the receiver to listen to whatever source I choose but discovered that the audio out jacks do not carry audio info from the HDMI inputs! What this means is that when I am using my Blu-ray player I have to plug the headphone cable into the back of the Blu-ray player and when I watch content from my cable box DVR I have to plug them into the back of the DVR. This creates a situation where I have to keep switching the headphone cable back and forth which gets old real fast. Is there any way I can change this situation (some kind of splitter perhaps?) so that I don't have to keep switching the headphone cable? Thank you.
