Question

How can I avoid getting "Hidden Files"?

Jan 19, 2015 6:53AM PST

Hey guys

Once every month I need to clean my hard drive from dead space, because it fills up my harddrive. I know I can follow this instruction to do it:

https://discussions.apple.com/message/26408277?ac_cid=ms123456#26408277

But I must have my settings set up wrong, cause I haven't heard of any other people who has this problem. Do you know how I can avoid these hidden files being saved to my hard drive?

I have a time machine going each week, so I don't need my trashed files.

Sounds like you want to avoid the trash.

https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3928371 is one of a thousand discussions about that.

Frankly if you create that much trash a month, maybe the disk is too small? My developer friend on Apple installed a 1TB HDD. What does this machine have?

It has 500GB. But yes, sometimes I have very large files on my computer. I'm a video editor.
