How big would an LDIF file be with...

100 addresses? Trying to backup the address book in Thunderbird by exporting it tool a save location but I'm very unsure it is working correctly because the LDIF file is only 27 Kbs in size.

A backup of Mozilla/Firefox bookmarks numbering just over 100 is 320 Kbs in size.

bookmarks are HTML and address book is probably plain text. 27k of plain text is many hundreds of lines.

68 addresses

68 address saved as a ldif file = 20kb

I had to go to the Folder Options folder and add it. I had it open with Open Office Spreadsheet.

Hope this helps.
