How about a lighten up post?

Apr 20, 2005 11:16PM PDT

Three guys at work are saying, the first thing the pope said after being elected was, 1) Print more Bingo tickets and 2) There goes my Social Security Pension and 3) I'm going to Disneyland.

I thought they were cute, can we add to this without making it an all out attack on Catholics? It will be closed if you do.

1. I knew I should have paid more attention in that Public Speaking class!

or

2. My lucky day, and I forgot to buy a lottery ticket! Dang!!

or

3. Wonder what all those people will think when I announce my new name is Mickey Mouse II?

Man Says He Won't Link XVI to XXX on Net
From Reuters

ROME ? An American who registered the Internet domain name BenedictXVI.com before the new pope was chosen said Wednesday that he had not decided what to do with it, but he ruled out pornography and doubted that he would accept an offer from a gambling site.

Well, gee ..... wasn't that decent of him

Too bad the Vatican wasn't on top of things enough to have all those "possible Pope" names already registered. Should'a had several decades worth already tied up.

Maybe some of us should check the Vatican Job Posting Board. Bet they have a top-level IT position open now Grin

Hmmm, not sure what ya mean Dave,
Apr 21, 2005 4:06AM PDT

I know that registering a possibly lucrative domain name ahead of it's actual use is sometimes done as sort of a gamble, and various court cases have arisen from such.

But how would this be deemed poaching?

Rick

Hi Jerry,

Guess what his Holiness likes for breakfast? Pope Tarts, of course. Oh boy is that a bad one. Ha Ha. Oh well, "clean" jokes are like that, right?

Cheers!

This just in: John Paul II says Heaven is a disappointment
Apr 21, 2005 6:50AM PDT
http://www.theonion.com/news/index.php?issue=4115

HEAVEN?The soul of Pope John Paul, which entered heaven last week following a long illness, expressed confusion and disappointment Saturday, upon learning that the Celestial Kingdom of God to which the departed faithful ascend in the afterlife is significantly less luxurious than the Vatican's Papal Palace, in which the pope spent the past 26 years of his earthly life.

"Where are all the marble statues, sterling-silver chalices, and gem-encrusted scepters?" the visibly disappointed pope asked. "Where are the 60-foot-tall stained-glass windows and hand-painted cupolas? Where are the elaborately outfitted ranks of Swiss Guards? Why isn't every single surface gilded? This is my eternal reward?"
