I've been looking for an answer to this for hours now.
The url that OE sets by default in account settings is
http://services.msn.com/svcs/hotmail/httpmail.asp
I tried pasting this into my browser and you get to msn services login page.So then I tried logging in from there and got "Fatal Login Error. hr = 80041500, f = 1" and now if I try that URL instead of going to the login page I just get the error message but I can still login to my hotmail plus account if I just go straight to hotmail.com
I've trawled the internet and searched the CNet forums for an answer to this but have not found a satisfactory solution.
I've been accessing my Hotmail+ account for ages through Outlook Express with no problems. The other day I installed IE7 which I have to say is a great improvement on IE6.My trouble started when I did a clean install of XP SP2 Home edition which I stupidly thought might take a few hours. In the end I was up all night reinstalling software, restoring backed up files and trying to find ways to restore corrupted dbx files. Then I tried reconfiguring my Hotmail+ account with OE7 but have been unable to import folders and am getting the following error message
''Unable to poll for new messages on your HTTP server. Account: 'Hotmail', Server: 'http://services.msn.com/svcs/hotmail/httpmail.asp', Protocol: HTTPMail, Server Response: 'Invalid login.', Port: 0, Secure(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x800CCC32''
This is a nuisance and rather puzzling as I have been able to access my Hotmail+ account via OE7 from my wife's laptop which has the same operating system and is also running IE7. I am certainly using the same login and password and the same broadband connection was used for both computers.
Any Ideas
