Question

Hotel wifi landing page/ captive portal setup

Mar 17, 2017 12:56PM PDT

Hi,
I am working on a hotel wifi system and need to find a way to route all wifi connections to the companies access landing page, or captive portal. How can I configure a router to send traffic to the server ip address? Do I need a router that has captive portal technology, or can I route all connections to the server address another way? (currently using a Cisco RVS4000 router as gateway to access internet)

Call Cisco to arrange for a CNA or contractor to fix you up.

How to configure router

Yes, this should have a simple solution. I am just asking how to configure a router to accomplish this myself.

If your router does this.

It would be in the router manual. If not, you need more gear, a CNA and this is what Cisco and other companies do for you.

Hi,
Cisco can handle all this. I'm a network engineer and im currently using Waver SmartOne WAC52N in small hotels. It has built in captive portal, captive page customization, username and password management with time validity and printing options, login via mail, fb etc. Also guest user session time and bandwidth management and a feedback page so you can get reviews and ratings from guests if you wish too. I'm really happy with this product bcz It's really easy to configure from hotel admin. It's cost effective and rock solid. Their website is www.wavertech.eu. I think they sell it in Europe only from the website but i think it worths giving a shot.
Regarding Cisco I think a CNA expert can do it in minutes for you!
