I have a Toshiba 52HM84 and after thirty days of average telvision viewing it developed a hot pixel in the upper right side of the screen. It draws the eye to it like a magnet. Very annoying but not as annoying as the manufacture told me it was acceptable amount of failure. Beware this is true accross the board no matter what technology. LCD DLP plasma and lcos. No warranty will help you. Dont let them use that as a sales tool to sell you a warranty you dont need. If they tell you they will replace no questions asked then show it to you in writing.
I saw several HD-LCD TVs that had hot and cold pixels on the floor at a popular electronics store. The salesman said that I needed to buy the additional service contract to receive a replacement if a TV developed hot pixels after the 90 day initial warranty period. Anyone have experience with investigating warranty coverage for this defect?
