About you doing all the coding.
Feb 14, 2015 1:36AM PST

PHPBB was well past 100,000 lines of code in 2007. ( https://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopic.php?f=64&t=539237 )

OK, let's give you the average best of 1,000 lines of code a day ( http://cboard.cprogramming.com/tech-board/119611-how-many-lines-code-shall-one-write-per-day-maximum.html )

So that means your new website given the average or some size today will be ready in about a year.

Why would you want to write all that? Why not get it working with PHPBB and find a host with a matching front page of WordPress or the like?

Programmers tend to hit the web for the basic questions so I fear that you may be from the old school of where all answers came from classrooms and books. I'd like you to prove me wrong here.

You claim you are going to write all the code. So that was my first OUCH, this is going to hurt and take a very long time.

Second, one of the first things you learn is to "hit the web" or use a search engine. I've written too much code over the years and in the past we used books and classes to get the needed answers. Today, so much different.

I'd start using a hosting company to host your website. Juat use their shared hosting until your website is such a great success that dedicated hosting (your own server managed by them) is preferable.

Sir my website will allow anyone to sign up and post on the site and a lot of functionality. So do you think I can achieve this from a shared web server?

In the start-up phase, surely. And a good host can upscale very fast (once you paid for it).

In your initial phase you can go for any of the hosting service. Then look how much response you are getting on the web and then decide whether to go for same hosting or a dedicated one.

You can prefer online register. Check plans for Website Hosting. The benefit of choosing online hosting registrars is that it makes all the steps easy and convenient for you. The platform dependability also matters.

Or if you want your personal web server, this would give you control over your hosting. Also this will cost you more you will need extra storage space too. Check you web server hosting plans.
