...what I finally did was disconnect the network. (I've found that playing the Halo Demo online through the router causes so much lag it's virtually unplayable for me and others).
Then, I shutdown Zone Alarm so others could join. They still complain of lag, though...
1) Do you have a firewall?
2) Are you running the Windows Firewall that came with Windows XP SP2?
Check those.
Good luck,
Graham
I am playing Halo demo, and i really want to create my own server. i have a home network with 2 computers, 1 is on ethernet, 1 is on wireless. the router is WRT54G, and i manually set up static IP addresses for my 2 computers. for example, my 1st computer is 192.128.1.2, the other is 192.168.1.3...vice versa. But when i want to create a server for my game, no one can join because they can't connect to my outside IP, which is from my ISP. how can i set up so that the game will automatically use my outside IP and players can join?
