This is serious issue you should contact with host gator
I was with Godaddy.com for several years with no problems. I hired a webperson to develop a Wordpress site for me. She had problems with Godaddy, so I moved to Hostgator at her request. She wanted me to let her host the site, but I declined.
Hostgator has moved to Utah from Texas and migrated my site to new a server (move to Utah means new IP address). Although they said they notified me twice previously, they did not do so until after the move.
Now, I'm having problems with a slow response time. My clients are having trouble logging in. All in all, the site is not responding like it should. Hostgator says it's just fine and responding well. My webperson is offering to host me again, and blaming my ISP for the lag. (I just checked my speed and it's fine.) She's also offering to move me to Godaddy.com, but, "my friends tell me they are having problems, too".
Essentially, hosting is a really small part of my budget, so I really only need a reliable hosting company. However, I don't want to keep moving my site as most all my new clients come from my 1st page google and yahoo listings and I don't want to keep changing the IP address.
I've been meaning to replace my web person for a while, as her work is sloppy and I don't trust her advice. I don't want to move again and again and again, though.
Is it possible that hostgator has gotten that bad? (could she be sabotaging the site?) Is Godaddy not doing a good job either?
