every time i open my movies files i get " windows host process Rundll32 has stopped".
what is it and how can i restore it ?

You didn't tell much about the movie files but many can't be played without more work. Let's skip all the lessons and learning about codecs and see if that play with VLC PLAYER from http://www.videolan.org/vlc/
