I hope they didn't send you a 'refurbished' phone. I fell for the 'pre-order-get something cool for free--game when I bought my S8. By the time I got it registered, the miniscule amount of free 256 G SD cards were long gone. Interestingly all the kids who worked in my carrier's retail store managed to get all the free stuff for themselves and extended family. And I had a very buggy phone for 2 months while they worked on the problems. I will never buy a new model on pre-order again. Have had many other interactions with Samsung's departments, none of them went well.
Bad Pre order experience, phone replacement ,and trade in issues. I pre ordered the Galaxy S10+ and traded in my GS8+ for a $300 rebate and free ear buds. I received my phone and received a message the earbuds were on back order. The phone I received ended up having a bad mother board so I was told by customer service to return the phone. I told costumer service I needed a phone immediately because my old phone was sent off as a trade in.
Costumer service had no answer for this and said I needed to go to my Samsung account and return the phone. Costumer service could not do this manually, I had to do it. I was not told when I returned the phone the free earbuds would be canceled, and I would have to purchase another $1000 phone on my credit card. I reordered the phone and had two phone purchases on my credit card because my trade in had not been processed. I used my work cell phone till the new one showed up. I had to call customer service again to get ear buds reordered. Costumer service couldn't send ear buds and said a voucher would be provided to me. I was eventually refunded for the first S10 I purchased minus the $300 for the trade in. I called customer service and they said the $300 would be refunded to my account as soon trade in was processed. I have yet to receive my voucher for earbuds and I was issued a replacement discount promotional code from Samsung for $300 and two months to use it. No money refunded to the new phone I purchased. This was very upsetting. I recommend buying directly from a store and not using Samsung.com.
