Question

Horon virus

Have been infected with Horon virus and cant seem to delete it, have tried anti malware etc and the files with the extension are still present.

What can I do?

Why? Because this is RANSOMWARE. Ransomware encrypts your files so removing the virus or ransomware does NOT decrypt your files.

Let's hope you learned about backups long ago since from what I read these files may be gone forever unless you have them on backups.

yes i have back ups, but am scared the virus can still infect external drives that I attach to the comp, how do I know if the virus is gone?

I shared how I looked into it but you didn't tell how you did your research. It seems odd to use anti-malware to scan for a virus or ransomware.

If you feel the research is not good enough I suggest you post at Bleepingcomputer.com and share what the infection was, your research and what you used so far.
