Horizontal Resize Button in Taskbar

Hi, I have a (hopefully) simple question about a new icon appearing in my taskbar. A few weeks ago, a margin-like icon popped up on my taskbar. When I hover my mouse over it, the horizontal resize pointer shows up. If I click and hold, the margin editor pointer I recognize from Microsoft word appears. However, when I try to resize the taskbar, nothing happens. I searched through the taskbar customization settings but found nothing. I tried researching my issue a bit more, but have yet to come across anyone with the same issue.

Would anyone here be able to help remove this icon from my taskbar? It has not caused any issues but is quite annoying. The icon is direct to the left of the windows file manager icon in the picture.

Thanks!

Could this be the seperator?

Thanks, it was the separator. I got rid of it by right-clicking the taskbar and locking it. The separator disappeared immediately.
