Hopefully a simple question

I need to buy a camcorder that has an audio input that can be used rather than a microphone. Is that available? The only requirement is the audio input ?I will be recording time sync rather than audio - other than that I have to buy it this week - any help would be appreciated.

Thank you

A.C.

external mic. This could be used, but it is not a line in. The volume levels would need to be carefully controlled. I don't know of any cameras with line in capability although they probably exist. There is not much need for this function since most serious audio work is not done on the camera.
