Many cameras will let you use Windows Explorer to retrieve photos from the camera.
With your camera connected to the computer and powered on, start up Windows Explorer and you should find a hard disk called "Removable Disk.
That will be your camera.
Click on the plus sign + next to Removable Disk and you should find some folders. Open the folders until you find the photos on your camera.
Use Windows Explorer to move the photos to your hard disk.
On my hard disk, I create a folder called Canon.
Inside that folder I create a folder for todays photos; it is titled 20050621Vacation.
I put all of todays vacation shots in that folder.
A very simple photo organizer.

Hi, I've had my Canon SD300 since a little before Christmas. I have always been able to put the pictures on the computer until now.
In the beginning, I would just use that cable from the camera to the computer. When I would do that, a thing would come up (kind of like when you stick a writable cd in and you can choose to look at the contents and all that) and I would just choose the right option and then it worked. Now, when I plug it in it makes a beep sound like it did before, but this beep is a different kind of beep. Also, nothing pops up! So I looked in my manual, and it said if it didn't pop up to go to Start then Canon Utilities and then CameraWindow and then choose CameraWindow. I looked for Canon Utilities, and it was not there. So then I got the solution disk and I put that in and installed it. Then I had the Canon Utilities.. now, the thing is, when I got to CameraWindow it says it cannot detect my Camera. I checked the plug in, and I tried replugging it into a different USB outlet just in case, but no luck. I'm assuming it is plugged in because of the beeping that the computer makes when I turned the camera on while it's hooked up.
Does anyone know what I can do to transfer my pictures? I also tried some direct transfer thing from my manual, but the directions seemed vague, and it didn't seem to work. I also tried going through programs and doing it, but no luck. Any suggestions are welcome ![]()
