through its own speakers (simulated surround like SRS is derived from a simple stereo source).
If you are connecting the DVD player to the TV with an optical cable you may have to go into the DVD or TV menus and play around with the audio settings.
Just bought a 50" LG Plasma tv. I have a panasonic DVD player w/ surround sound. I had it hooked up to my old panasonic projection tv and it would play (the surround sound) for my TV sound, and blue ray player sound. With the new TV I hooked it up to the AVI #1 and it will only go to DVD it will not allow the surround to work with the tv at all. Any ideas??
