Bob - Thank you for the information. This program appears to be like GoTo my PC... the intent of my question was to find out if there is any way to hook up my laptop to the cpu to access the information there, almost like a network with out the monitor or keyboard on the cpu.

As I do not have a monitor to hook up to the cpu ,at the moment.

Thank you...

SS

Your ask " any way to hook up my laptop to the cpu to access the information there, almost like a network with out the monitor or keyboard on the cpu."

The supplied network sharing does that quite well, so thats done and done. Tightvnc finishes this quite well.

if my memory serves me correctly i had a friend do that for me when my laptop crashed. I think he called it a daisy chain and we were able to somehow plug into the desktop and get the data there. I had windows ME on my laptop and only had the Toshiba disk which means that it will reformat the drive and wipe out everything on it. I went and bought windows XPpro and it installed over everything and the laptop started working and my other data was still there. A little messed up but there. I wish i could tell you more, other than i think you can do it. good luck, allen

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
