Hooking up a second monitor (HD television)

Feb 17, 2006 12:43PM PST

I've finally "turned on" the media portion of my Sony Vaio Windows Media Edition desktop computer. The only problem I'm having is that it will not display through my HDTV, only through the computer monitor. My OEM video card is a NVIDIA GeForce FX5600 with S-video, DVI, and Serial(?) connections on it. Do I need to install a second video card to display recorded movies from the hard drive to my HDTV? If so, will the new video card be able to adjust for the 16 to 9 wide screen TV? Any advice or recomendations on which video card (assuming I even need one) would be very much appreciated.
