Hook my Pc to a hdtv without additional equipment.

I have a normal pc with a normal onboard graphics card with anyhing but a normal vga output port. My tv also has the same and so oes my monitor.
Can I use the normal vga cable to hook my pc to hdtv? How will the quality be?
I dont want to buy anything extra like graphics card, hdmi cable etc.
With this setup, will I be able to enjoy full HD movies in full quality on the tv?

I doubt if your PC and monitor have a normal VGA output port, as you write. So I assume it's a VGA input port.

Then all you need is a cable to connect the VGA output to the VGA input. That should give a picture. Only experiment can tell the quality, so just try. But it doesn't give any sound. You must use the sound card and speakers connected to the PC to enjoy the sound.

my IBM laptop to my Sony 55" SXRD all the time. I use the monitor cable (VGA/D-sub) and the speaker output/input jack. Works perfectly. Do I get HD quality? Nope, I didn't expect it. You only get HD quality if you use a digital connection such as DVI or HDMI. Is the picture watchable? Yes. But because digital TVs are made differently from computer monitors, the pixels, lines of resolution, and pixel count are different.

Using the VGA cable will produce a watchable picture. And that's all. If you want HD quality you need to upgrade your video card.
