Take a look at netlimiter and see if you can bring yourself to install that. A newer router might help but as this is a rather dated router, I'd not look at it for limiting the other user's bandwidth.

my set up is: cable broadband 20Mb modem into Linksys Wireless-G Broadband Router WRT54G2. Son has his desktop PC connected to router via ethernet cable, i connect my laptop over the wifi in next room, great signal. When he's streaming stuff over the net or playing online games my laptop crawls...2min youtube clip takes a buffering age! Any suggestions where me and son are both happy??
