jelmo55,
Thanks for posting your experiences.
I think, and I can't really speak for the tech support on the phone, is that you will get 5.1 surround sound "where available" if it is being broadcasted.
Not every network offers 5.1 surround sound, and not every affiliate broadcasts it. And not every show offers it, either. If the show isn't filed in 5.1, unless it is mastered later, it won't be broadcast that way either. If it IS filmed in 5.1, and broadcast in 5.1, you should be able to get that 5.1 surround sound in all of your speakers.
Does that help?

I am a bit confused with how I will be able to use my HOME Theatre system I just set up with the help of Samsung tech support. They tell me that most network broadcast are broadcast in 2.1 and I will not hear the sound out of my 6 speakers in my home theatre that i just setup. She tells me when playing a CD I will hear the system speakers which I have tested and they do sound great.
I was under the impression when I bought the theatre system that anything I watched on my tv would use the sound system(6 speakers) provided it was turned on....
Any comments would be greatly appreciated. At best buy the display model had all speakers sounding great.
