HOME THEATRE HELP

couldn't find a forum for this:
I have a panasonic DMP-BDT220 blu-ray player which I have been using for playing youtube videos through my Viera TC-P50S30 TV because only the ST model had youtube at the time. I went to open youtube a couple of days ago & there was a notice that panasonic blu-ray players are no longer compatible with youtube. Anyway I might be able to stream youtube to my TV without having to invest in a new blu-ray player or TV?
Thank You, solitaryman422

It's one of those touchy subjects.

This area can cause folk to blow up. So far the answer is no. Google has moved on, on many models. Consumers are upset so give it time for the makers and Google to burn a little or use something else.

Touchy subjects?

Nah. You still have plenty of options, but will require at least a little $. This is all dependent upon your current hardware/PCs/room layout/etc. of course.

-Run an HDMI cable from your PC or laptop to the HDTV. Easy and works wonderfully. Throw an older laptop or netbook near the HDTV when you need it for this purpose. Add a universal remote or smartphone app to control as such. For something more permanent, add a USB 2.0 cable from desktop to vicinity of HDTV so you can add a wireless keyboard/mouse.

There's also a youtube app for the Roku. Not as fully functional as the PC version via HDMI cables, but might be something you want to try. Grab a compatible refurbished Roku for $30 to test the waters and avoid having to pull in cables from a PC or laptop.
