Home Theater hook up

Mar 29, 2009 1:46AM PDT

I have the following set up and I was hoping to get some tips on the best way to hook them together for the best performance and ease of use. I haven't figured out how to get one remote to control all of these yet or if you can recommend a good universal remote instead of using 4 different remote controls.

- Direct Tv HD Satellite
- Samsung LN52A630 HDTV
- Samsung Blue Ray BD-P1500
- Samsung Home Theater HT-Z410

Any help you can give to make it easier for me would be appreciated. I never had anything beyond a 32 inch tube TV in the past. Thank you.

Congrats on your new toys. There is a site www.wirewize.com that is pretty cool. It's free, you list your components and it tells you and shows you with pictures the best setup. Give it a try.

You might want to check out this link to set up Anynet+ between your Samsung products, though you're probably not going to be able to control the DirecTV box with your remote.

You can probably get the DirecTV remote control to control the TV, and Home Theater system (as well as the box itself, of course!) but you may have some issues with the Blu-Ray player's remote codes. Not all boxes have the updated codes for the newer Blu-Ray Codes.

Just giving some food for thought. Some people, who must control everything with ONE remote, often opt for a Harmony or similar type of all-in-one remote.

Hope that helps, and let me know if I can help further!
