Not sure if there's anything more to networking than taking the short courses and following the tutorials.
Hi
I recently moved to a new house that has cat6 cabling. In each room, there are 2 network points and all return to a storage cupboard upstairs.
I need to crimp and put the proper network ends to these cables and I have been reading how to do this.
The issue is my broadband point is located in my downstairs living room, and this is where my router is plugged into.
If I was to plug a network cable from my current router downstairs into the wall network point beside it, and at the other end of this point (upstairs in cupboard) put network cable into a switch, and do like wise for other network points around my house, would this work and create a network?
Thanks for any advice
