I'd ask the architect or builder for a map and explanation of the network they designed and built.
How couid anybody else know the details?
Let me start by saying that I am fairly new to IT world. That being said, I just recently bought a new home and found out that the phone lines are all Cat 5e cable. I saw a video on youtube where this guy was able to turn it into a home network. There were now specifics though. I have followed the Cat 5e line to its source and there is no phone box just a Cat 5e cable sticking out of the house. I cannot find where they all merge together though. If I take the end of the main and put an ethernet jack and plug it into my router/modem will that run data through the lines?
Also, i have 2 Cat 5e cables coming out of the phone wall jacks. How can I figure out which would be the correct line to convert?
