Home Network Setup

Jun 5, 2010 8:47AM PDT

My roommates and I have a number of devices that we would like to connect together so we can watch movies, play music, share files, etc. across them all.

Here are the devices we have:
1. HP desktop running Windows 7
2. 3 laptops running Windows XP
3. 1 laptop running Windows Vista
4. PS3
5. Linksys Wireless-N Broadband Router - WRT160N V3
6. Phillips 47PFL3704D/F7 TV
7. Technical Pro RX-B111 Integrated Amplifier
8. Motorola SB5101 Surfboard Cable Modem (standard from Comcast)

What do I need to do/buy in order to setup a network where these devices are able to watch movies, play music through the amp, share files, and have the TV be used as the display from one of the computers?

Thanks for the help.

There is no such thing. Not that it should be possible but "the players" or who ever you want to call them by do not want it to be easy to play anything to anything from everywhere.

Keep an eye on the BOXEE and other solutions like TWONKY.
