Question

Home Network Configuration

I will get right to the point, I have a Netgear R7000 Nighthawk and a Amped Wireless SG20000 ranger extender. I am not wanted to use the Amped so much as an extender but as an AP.

I had this all setup once, but forgot how I did it. When I try to do it now, it pulls an IP from the netgear.

How I want this to work is
Netgear > Switch > Amped (as an AP) so I can designate WiFi channels and not have the extender just use the same ones as the main router. I have a LAN cable running from the main router to the switch.

I believe the way I had it setup was something like the one I want as an AP was set to be a DHCP server but had an IP address and IP range like 192.168.2.1 (192.168.2.2 - 192.168.2.100)
Subnet: (Does it need to be same or different from the main router?)
Gateway: 192.168.2.1 (right?)

I essentially want to be able to use it to extend the wireless in the room it is in but also be able to wire devices into it that are in there as well.

Any help is appreciated and if you need more information I am happy to provide. Thanks in advance.
