Home movies burn to DVD on Nero

Mar 23, 2005 9:55PM PST

I purchased a new computer my intention was to take all my home movies and make dvd's. I have captured and made great home movies on Windows Movie Maker. Now trying get those movies on DVD is a real headache for me. I have Nero Express 6, I get the following error messages Unexpected file format with avi and no compatable file found with movie maker file.

Thank you in advance for any help possible.

I offer no cure for Nero's issues. You deal with them.

Here I use Ulead without such a headache. Lesson? Try something else.

And Microsoft's Movie Maker format is "proprietary". I can't use that.

You could also try Roxio's package. Its DVD Creator

can read AVI, mpeg, and a variety of other formats. I don't know if it can handle Win Movie Maker. Check Roxio's web site. I tried and dropped Nero. You have to know too much about it to use it.
