Question

Home Media Network

Jul 23, 2015 6:08PM PDT

Dropping cable, switching to TWC 300mbps. Want to set up a home media network that will allow all the TVs(1 Main, 4 bedrooms, and possibly 1 or 2 more) to pull from a server. Also, want to have internet capabilities throughout home. Don't know best way of going about this. I already have ~1000ft of cat5e and rg6 along with terminations I got on a deal a while ago along with some experience routing low voltage throughout a house. Looking for suggestions on modems, routers, hardwired/wireless? None of my current tvs are smart tvs. Only upgrading main tv to Smart tv.

All the solutions to date appear to be too rough for everyday folk. For now the nirvana systems are setup by companies that do this.

Modem? I use what TWC supplies. Bonus because if it fails they replace it.
