I'd recheck your work.
I bought an holux GM270 GPS receiver recently and have been trying to hook it up to my dell inspiron700M laptop. I do have the pcMia adapter. My current settings for the gps in Rightclick>MyComputer>Hardware>DeviceManager
r
Hardware Config RS232, Default Communication parameters Bits per second 4800, Data Bits 8, Parity none, Stop bits 1, and flow control is by hardware.
Next FIFos, use FIFO Buffers(checked), transmitter(4), Receiver(100), Receiver FIFO Flow Contro Thresholds, Flow ON(16), Flow Off(112).
Data Rate,crystal frequency(MHz) 1.8432
I have tried MS street trips, Iguidiance and the gpsviewer uitility from holux, no luck with all of these. the Gps just couldn't find my current location and the right time. The driver for this device was downloaded yday from Holux.com. http://www.imgupload.net/out.php/i1691_1.JPG
Do i have to have the right setting to get this gps receiver to wrk???(connect to the internet first?) Any help would be greatly appreciated.
