can the laptop see the other computer? if it can, then the network is working. if it can't, then you have to verify that the wireless connection is working using the diagnostic utilities that came with the wireless card for the laptop.

What type of Router did you buy? LinkSys? D-Link? Do you have DSL or cable and who is your ISP? If you have'nt configured the router than you wont be able to connect. You may want to try cloning the MC address of your PC to the Router so you ISP recognized you. Also, the router probable came with a setup CD, this is very eassy to use, you connect direct direct;y to the cable/dsl modem and it captures your pc configuration then you connect the router. One more thing to consider is, have you set up WEP security on the router yet, if so then you need to configure the wireless nic in your PC with the encrypted key code. Hope this helps.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
