Hitachi vx915 or Hitachi vs810

Jan 8, 2005 12:33PM PST

Ok, down to these two sets. Only negative thing I've heard about the vs810 is the screen glare.
The added features of the vx915 are:
Learning AV NET III
Deep Black anti reflective screen
Dual IEEE 1394 interfaces
High gloss black with black trim.

As I'm totally in the shallow end of the pool here what is the Learning AV NET III feature and
Dual IEEE 1394 interfaces?

Learning AV net is a copy of Mitsubishi's Net Command. It gives you the potential to use one remote for everything, the difference with the newer Hitachi is if the product you want to use isn't in the tv's internal memory you can learn it button for button. The IEEE connection is great, that way you can record in HD to a DVHS or coming down the pipe, Recordable HD DVD. You will need this connection to do so.

I am in the process of making the same decision. Let me know which one you ended up buying.

My research indicated that the All-In-One AV Remote learns only the major features, so you may still need other remotes.
