Question

Hitachi UltraVision LCD Projection HDTV, Fuzzy picture?

by frankie850 / August 25, 2011 4:44 AM PDT

The bulb was replaced about 2 years ago. I got the tv from a friend of mine. It's a Hitachi 70". At first the tv only did it for a few minutes, then it became 30 minutes, then an hour. Now it just stays fuzzy and won't turn back. Can anyone please tell me what might be wrong? I really like this tv and want to get it working again.

Am I right -- this is an old set with plenty of mileage. It could be what is called the "light engine".
Last I heard this part was like $600 not counting labor charge. You may want to see if there are any authoried Hitachi repair shops and at least call and tell them you have a suspicion it's the light engine and what do they think it could be and ask for a ballpark repair estimate.

One of the best French door fridges we've tested

A good-looking fridge with useful features like an auto-filling water pitcher and a temperature-adjustable "FlexZone" drawer. It was a near-flawless performer in our cooling tests.
