Not the same make/model, but about 360 bucks later a module on a board was replaced and its working again. Do yourself a favor and remove the AC cord from it till you get the repairs done. The shutdown is it's self protection kicking in.

I have a 53UWX10B that's a few years old and I have a power problem with it. This just happened a few minutes ago.
While I was watching TV it turned itself off. I tried turning it back on and all I got was the clicking noise that it always makes when you turn it on, but it never came on...no sound, no nothing. The red light does not come on either. I unpluged the TV for 30 seconds, as the manual says, and plugged it back in, but that didn't work either.
My first guess is some sort of fuse blew inside the TV, but I'm no electrician. It's connected to a surge protector on the same strip as my DVD player and receiver. Nothing happened to them...just the TV.
A few questions:
Does anybody know what the problem might be?
How much is this going to cost?
Where to look for a repair guy to fix this?
I'm currently looking around on the net and this was my first stop. I would really appreciate any feedback.
Thanks.
