Hitachi 50VS810 or JVC HD-52Z795 or ????????

Jan 6, 2005 10:21AM PST

After seeing a relatives Hitachi 50V500 I decided I must have a RPTV in the 50-60" range. I know nothing
about this topic and have been looking intensely on the web for information on the different technologies.
I came close to choosing the JVC D-ILA HD-52Z795 but after seeing some mediocre reports looked further and visited my local ABC Wharehouse where the tv sales trainer (expert) happened to be in that day. After much discussion I was advised that the Hitachi 50or60
VS810's were the best RPTV's. I was pretty impressed particularily with the analog picture this tv was able to cobble up. Further research has seen reports here that actually the 810's prior model the 50V500 actually ranked higher in pic quality. Also that
GLARE on the 810 is a problem. Can I just take the shield off?
Soooo while still somwhat confused but better informed
I'm still looking and want a great tv as this will be in the living room a long time. I will spend up to 4K
with stand and need advice on what other sets to consider.
Thank you for a great forum,
Craig
