Hitachi 50VG825 VirtualHD feature

by hormeltom / April 2, 2006 6:48 AM PDT

Another question for the tech buffs:

The Hitachi 50VG825 (and the 55, 60 inches too) have a "Virtual HD 1080p II processor" feature. What exactly is the point of this feature, what does it do, and is it of any use at all? Thanks.

Without researching too much, it sounds to me like it would be some sort of upconverter. The word "virtual" recalls the tv's that came equipped with virtual dolby dig. sound.

Hmmm,,,, yes it's 1280x720p and it will have do down convert any 1080i/p to 720p.
"Virtual HD 1080p II processor" is just that a processor that is calims to do a great job of down scalling, there are some that don't.
The best way would be to input a 1080i source and see how it looks on this TV,,,But Hatachi has good track record of quality products so I assume that it does a good job. John

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
