starting the desktop in the safe mode, then try System Restore?

What OS are you using?

Did you read the words in red before you posted?

Operating system? age of computer? You said that with all those scans "nothing working".. Did the scans actually work and find nothing? Did they not work at all? Did they work and find something but deleting the items not work? If they found something, what did they find?

Do the rest of your program work correctly and the ONLY thing wrong is you have a blank desktop background? Blank...is that white or black blank? Have you chosen "None" in the Desktop background section.. If so, have you tried changing the background to something else? RIGHT click on a blank area of the desktop, choose "Properties". When the Properties window loads, click on the "Desktop" tab, then select an appropriate background setting, then click on "Apply", then OK.

Hope this helps and let us know more.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
