Highend digital cameras with or without interchangeable lens

I own and use a Nikon Coolpix 8700 . The quality of the 8 megapixel pictures is superb and I have made easy enlargements with chemical /film quality up to 20X40. 16X20's at this resolution are a snap from judicious crops.
The fact that the package is very light and small makes it a fantastically powerful photographic tool to carry around without a bag full of lenses.
I have sold my Brinica and Rollei's to buy this baby and consider myself in a far better position to take equisite phtographs.
The companies that sell you camera bodies that take some of their old 35mm lenses don't tell you that mostly can be used only as fixed tele -lenses.
I find the 35- 285 mm equivalent in my Nikon Coolpix zoom lens all and more than I used with my chemical cameras. You will still have to buy a digttal -zoom lense . You will also have a camera that does not fill flash at almost all speeds with the interchangeable cameras because they still have focal plane shutters . The Coolpix shutter acts between the lens elements. The Cool pix can sync with fill flash up to a 1/12000 of a sec.

I feel that you wouyld be better off selling your old lenses and investing in one of these new line of. digital cameras. Stay away from the Sony ,though.
