High Quality Converter for car?

Jun 6, 2009 7:49PM PDT

What are my options for getting high quality MP3 playback in my car?

Is an Aux in the only way?

I have tried cassette converters and fm transmitters, but I'm not happy with the quality of either. Plus I do lots of traveling, so fm station must be fiddled with the whole time during journey.

Any suggestions?Appreciate your feedback Happy

Aux In...

...or hardwired...is usually the way to go to get the best SQ out of your digital files. That said, with MP3 it's still compressed audio. Unless you have some trick audio processing gear or a new, state-of-the-(audio tech)art Jaguar with its spiffy ability to make compressed MP3s sound great, it's an uphill climb.

A lot depends on what's already in your car. Most mobile audio shops can tell you far better about your options, since they can look at your ride and see right away what you're up against.

Thanks a mil for reply. Think that pretty much confirms what I suspected, there's not decent method to play MP3 without serious investment?
Sadly don't have the cash to splash on anything over $100 right now, so may just have to buy a new Fm transmitter.

cheers for feedback
