It seems that the sound is from a condensator on the motherboard.
I noticed it also. But I can live with it.
But I will call Dell because my case is uncoloring at the place of my hand. I will describe to the tech the problem.
I just received my E1505 3 days ago and after the set up, it was producing a "high pitched" sound constantly from the hard drive. I called support immediately and after 1 hour on the phone, it was decided that the hard drive needed to be replaced. Received the new hard drive and replaced it, but still emitting high pitch sound. Spent another hour with support and again, it was determined that the hard drive be replaced again.
Anyone has the same experience? Should I just returned the laptop within the 21 day period if the third hard drive still emits the same high pitched sound? Thanks!!
