1. A fdisk and format essentially wiped out the NT/2000 user accounts. Such are not hidden but just not there. Use the tools to create accounts as you see fit.

2. Windows ME doesn't do NTFS. I know of no free tool to convert NTFS to FAT32. You'll need to delete the partition and create it as you want. Bye-bye data.

In closing, it's my opinion you are not using Windows 2000 NTFS to your advantage. NTFS is damage resistant (not damage proof) and the addition of ownership and rights to such could have limited the amount of damage the virus caused. With fat32, the volume had no restrictions so any account or program can run without restraint. I don't feel any speed loss on NTFS.
