Hibernate only causes short naps

by Disneyfan / January 24, 2006 5:40 AM PST

My laptop won't go into hibernate. It attempts to but just wakes right up again. The same thing pretty much happens with standby. Is there a power setting that might be wrong? I looked it over and everything seems to be set normally. Any ideas?

Do you have any external devices connected to the machine when it tries to hibernate? Some devices will keep a computer "awake".
