They are identical to Striper Bass in looks but smaller. We have several rivers near San Antonio that are dammed forming lakes.... Canyon Lake, Medina Lake, Choke Canyon, and Lake Mathis. Just a few miles north not to far from Austin is also Marble Falls, a good place to catch White Bass at the foot of the dam. The White Bass will start moving out of these lakes upstream to spawn during the months of Jan, Feb, March. Each lake is a little different in timing. The first group start moving upriver usually in Jan at Choke Canyon. Wife and I went there on a warm day, Feb 20th, and caught 8 trolling with lures in about 3 hours of fishing. Yesterday it was warm and we went to another river getting there around 1PM and caught 11 nice size ones trolling. This time I caught as many as the wife. She never fished before until she met me 25 years ago. Every year at this time she looks forward for a warm day to go fishing. The fish are still on ice and I need to go out and filet them this PM. Hope to go fishing again tomorrow. Will use minnows and still fish with a bobber to get a larger amount.
I did not want to reply on Evie's discussion again. Shes very good at giving out tonge lashings and did not want to get in her line of fire.
Yep, it sure is exciting (American Politics) Its really good to have input from another country, especially the UK.
I'm from Massachusetts. down South they call me a damn yankee. The natives up country in the Northeast Kingdom of VT call me a Flatlander. Down East in Maine I'm known as a %#$*@
I am a Newbie on this Forum and really enjoy it. The Forum may call me something else, but they are the nicest bunch of Folks I have ever had the pleasure of conversing with.
Have a Good day or Night over there in the UK Steve
