General discussion

Hi Steve

Mar 7, 2004 10:55AM PST

I did not want to reply on Evie's discussion again. Shes very good at giving out tonge lashings and did not want to get in her line of fire.

Yep, it sure is exciting (American Politics) Its really good to have input from another country, especially the UK.

I'm from Massachusetts. down South they call me a damn yankee. The natives up country in the Northeast Kingdom of VT call me a Flatlander. Down East in Maine I'm known as a %#$*@

I am a Newbie on this Forum and really enjoy it. The Forum may call me something else, but they are the nicest bunch of Folks I have ever had the pleasure of conversing with.

Have a Good day or Night over there in the UK Steve

White Bass Lee...........
Mar 9, 2004 2:33AM PST

They are identical to Striper Bass in looks but smaller. We have several rivers near San Antonio that are dammed forming lakes.... Canyon Lake, Medina Lake, Choke Canyon, and Lake Mathis. Just a few miles north not to far from Austin is also Marble Falls, a good place to catch White Bass at the foot of the dam. The White Bass will start moving out of these lakes upstream to spawn during the months of Jan, Feb, March. Each lake is a little different in timing. The first group start moving upriver usually in Jan at Choke Canyon. Wife and I went there on a warm day, Feb 20th, and caught 8 trolling with lures in about 3 hours of fishing. Yesterday it was warm and we went to another river getting there around 1PM and caught 11 nice size ones trolling. This time I caught as many as the wife. She never fished before until she met me 25 years ago. Every year at this time she looks forward for a warm day to go fishing. The fish are still on ice and I need to go out and filet them this PM. Hope to go fishing again tomorrow. Will use minnows and still fish with a bobber to get a larger amount.

I have a hard time believing ...
Mar 8, 2004 8:26PM PST

... that you just typed out that post and went to bed and got surprised by the response. I do not recall you and I crossing swords George, so you have absolutely no reason to even assume or comment that I might be issuing forth some line of fire for comments on that thread. Why not simply -- although not necessary -- reply in that thread and apologize in advance to me as Steve did if you had such fear? No, you chose to start a new thread with a deliberate swipe. If you think I'm being rough or unfair here, I can't really help that. I've been attacked out of thin air by more newbies for whatever their petty reasons are to just keep letting it roll off my back unanswered. Trying to pass this off as a humorous compliment is just plain lame George. I have enjoyed your posts and our exchanges, so it was really to my great surprise to be greated with such a call out from you. Basically if you are genuine, this blows over. If there is more to this as some suspect, you won't be able to coral your hatred for long and the slip-up is just around the corner.

Gee, describing that statement as a "call out" seems over-reacting? How else would you describe it?

Guess you have to have "been there" to understand Dave.

As I explained in one of my posts here, it just happen to be one of your Posts. Could have been anyone. With all the gripeing around here about changing threads in the middle of a topic, I felt, lets move ours off.

#1 "I do not recall you and I crossing words" NO, because it never happen.
#2 "Should I have continued on your post apologizing as Steve did. YES
#3 Was it a deliberate swipe at you and did I have such fear, etc. Absolutely NOT.
#4 Don't look for any slip-ups "because I am unable to coral my hatred"? I HAVE NO HATRED TO CORAL

I really feel bad that you feel this way, because I have absolutely NO axe to grind with anyone on this Forum.

I am all done with trying to answer to these questions of Why, What or Who on this Post. I think I have satisfied most. Delete the whole damn discussion if you wish. I could have done that myself when I saw the way it went, but felt its too late now and I am not a runner. I will answer to my mistakes and faults no matter what the consequent may be.

Evie, You must of really got hurt on this Forum at one time in the past and if you are going to sit there thinking I am going to cause you more hurt, rest assure I can leave as fast as I came.

Good advice
Mar 9, 2004 3:43AM PST

There are good threads- interesting, funny, informative, etc.

The rub is that flare-ups usually draw the most attention.

Oftentimes those who have issues to resolve will do it if left alone. But folks can egg them on by interfering, though as well intentioned as that may be.

George, Don't go away on my account. I'm sorry but I still shake my head at where the slam came from. That's just how it came across where I'm coming from. Apology accepted and if it's alright with you perhaps we can just drop it and move on.

Poor George.............:)
Mar 8, 2004 12:41AM PST

I had a hunch and a feeling you were not saying something to be insulting. I knew, however, that you were going to get a kick or two! That is the risk of the written word as opposed to spoken. I am sure Evie would not have been upset if she had seen and heard you.

Don't worry. These things blow over quickly here in SE. Besides, it's an election year! Lots more important things to fuss about!!

Go and take care of your "Monday", this will all be gone soon. Happy Happy

Hi MzLee

Well, I guess I have to go one more post HERE.

It just happen to be Evies Post I was on. If it were Daves, Dans, Josh or who's ever post, that I was on, it would have been the same reply.

I did not single out Evie. I think she is a very wonderful, intelligent person. You too Glenda. Looking at it from some view points here. I deserve what I got. So Be It.

Since you are new, Let me explain. Evie has been attacked so many times by so called newbies, that it has just become to much! So strange how these"newbies" attack the same people over & over! I also have been in the position and it is not a fun one to deal withSad
Let me say if you are genuine I welcome you to SE and apologize if I was a bit defensiveSad After you have been here a while you will begin to recognize what I am talking about! Again I am sorryHappy

I am genuine and I did not know this, about Newbies popping in here attacking members. I do not blame you in that case for being very defensive. No need to apologize, after the way I messed up that change over discussion, I deserved the flack.

Tell you what. Any of those Newbies show up, send them over to me. I can get pretty vicious if need be. Although I imagine when you Gals get through them, all thats left is the bones.

Thanks

Thanks for the warning Glenda. You know I went to bed after that post last night. Got up this morning, finished up the chores my Wife had assigned me to, headed into my hide away here to get latest news on SE. World of info on here. Since it was snowing out figured it was a good day to catch up.

Saw the hits on my post and thought Gee , Steve must in a talkative mood today. Could'nt believe it. Like Chernobyl blew up again. Took me half the morning to figure out what everyone was barking about.

Anyway, I hope no one was hurt and I will not call myself a Newbie again. Call me "A. Stranger" or "Whats his Name" Just dont't call me late for supper.

Thank again for the info Happy
