Just a beginner in this thread. I would like to be a part of this forum, I need some relevant information regarding operating systems. What were the required specs needed in order to use windows 8 operating system?

The system requirements for Windows 8 update 1 are mentioned in http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-8/system-requirements. You'll find a lot of other links about it, for example: http://www.pcadvisor.co.uk/features/windows/3358892/windows-8-system-requirements/
