HI-DEF FOCUS QUESTION?

Mar 1, 2006 6:49AM PST

A friend came over and told me he saw a blue-ray demo, He said that the picture was razer sharp at all depths of the scene(perfect close and distance) Well I switched on my 72" toshiba. and the first coment he said was look upclose shots look great but background shots are out of focus I told him this was normal and To get perfect depth you need a very expensive camera lens. Is this true ? also what kind of a lens is it and how does it work? have a perfect day blabbermouth stewart

It's called depth of field. If you focus on a close subject the distance will be out of focus. If you on distance subject the close one will be out of focus. There are a several factors the influence this. such as f-stop and the actual focal distance, etc.
I doubt that HD DVDs are better than a good 1080i braodcast.
I'm sure the Blue-ray demo looked much better than a regular DVD would. John
