Resolved Question

Hi, could somebody help? A Trojan detected and my A.V. don't

Oct 23, 2011 7:39AM PDT

My O.S. is Windowos 7 H.P. 64 Bits Pentium (R) T4300@ 2.10. GHZ RAM 4.00 GB... I use AVG Free Edition 2011 that don't detects it...I made an on line san with Panda that detects a Virus/Trojan in C:\program files\ amazon\uninstaller\uninstalleramazon.exe
I submt the file to Jotti's malware scans and the result was that 9 in 20 declares it' a Trojan...
Amazon came intalled in my PC.
What must I do? Just go the Control Panel and uninstall Amazon? That is enought safe and what else must I do?
Thanks, in advance, for helpig.

You can do another online scan at another Av website, like Norton, Kaspersky, etc., and see what it reports. Under typical situations, Amazon isn't installing a trojan, though it maybe though of as one, like in "false positive" because of the action the pgm. uses or takes to do its function. the immediate safe way, is yes simply de-install Amazon, especially if you don't use it. Amazon is still available just by going to its std. online services. You can also report it to Amazon and/or check its forums to see if anyone else is reporting the same. Also, check the Panda forum itself to see what if any forum reports are being offered. These are actions you take at your own discretion.

Willi, I made before a scan on line with Dr.WEB and HouseCall that detected nothing. Kaspersky was in the list of Jotti's that detected it as a Backdoor.Win32.Delf.Tow. I'll make a scan with Kaspersky to see what happens. If it detets nothing I'll de-install Amazon as you sugested... I'll tell after what happened.
Thanks.

<span id="INSERTION_MARKER">Hi, Willy.
I went Karspersky Web site and what I could find there was the free Vius Removal Tool. Was that what you meant? I could not find there an on line scan to detect Virus, trojan... I download the Tool and made the scan that lasted more or less 10 hours... Reported nothing. Only at the beggining of the scan I could read: ... PROTECTED BY PASSWORD... but do not know what...
After, made again, a scan with Panda and the Trojan was detected again... I'm worry about this. Any other information or suggestion?
Thanks very much for helping.

I'll De-Instal the program...

Recently, made a scan on line with F-Secure wich was one of the AV in Jotti's list that declared the file as a Trojan. Only reported a tracking cookie and delected it. I submited the suspicious file to F-Secure Security Labs and some hours later I received a mail frm Them saying : The file you submitted is clean. It is not malicious....
So, Thanks, Willy, for your concern. Because of this i learned a little more..! I'll de-install the program from the control panel. But First I'll make a restore point.
