Hi Chaps(!) ? Technical problems fixed, so I thought I would ?.

Mar 9, 2004 10:31PM PST

thank you all for your kind comments and throw the following one into the pot. (I can still only ?pop in? occasionally, but can keep up with the posts and will post when I can. Tee Hee ? I can hear the groans even from my hard disk? But seriously though, thanks folks.)

So anyway, I just wondered how many of us are ?budding inventors??. Clearly, many members have lots of skills ? there must be lots of you out there who succeed better than I. I mean, OK, I can build a wobbly coffee table ? aren't coffee tables meant to be wobbly? Does Anyone?s mitre joints really fit together as they should? My coffee table still gets ?pride of place? in my sitting room (front parlour?) because ?I made that darn thing?, though usually covered by a throw-over cloth I might add ? cringe.

So anyway, I?ve spent the last ?couple of months? (ho hum), designing that perfect device, in wonderful Heath Robinson style, that goes like this ? and what I want to know is whether anyone has perfected this ?wake-up call? yet. Here we go:

The timer switches on the kettle, which pours water onto the coffee; the steam rises and removes the creases from my tomorrow?s suit (hanging above), which then waves in the breeze and activates this wind-driven fan, which blows cold air onto my face, and in doing so, the cold air also causes the metal of the bedfame to contract at the head end, and thus rises to lift into an upright position.

Oh well, guess I?ve been away too long?Don?t get me wrong, I am following your politics avidly, for interest, yes, but also because they are so closely tied up with the UK, but if anyone jumps in and says that Bush or Kerry thought of my idea first, then I?m gonna go straight back to sleep.

Nice to be back.

Regards
Mo

no, don't worry about anybody saying Bush or Kerry thought of your idea first. Half the forum would say that Bush can't even swim so how could he possibly have thought of anything at all like your invention. The other half of the forum would say that your idea doesn't have any flip flops, so it couldn't possibly have come from Kerry. Happy

Dunno, sounds flip flop to me. Isn't it suppose to flip you out of bed and ...

flop you on the floor? In which case, according to what many members here say about him, I think this invention can be credited to Kerry.

See how it works? Wink

...everyone knows he gave Kerry those flip flops and never got properly thanked by him.

You mean being auto flopped out of bed? Not for me ...

One of my children had to literally be flopped out of bed. Then you ran for your life.

My other child woke up like a ray of sunshine.

Go figure.
