No comment on your bootleg Win7 as it is not allowed on here...

If it is true that XP was not removed then about the only way I can see to do that is it is in another partition that is hidden and some kind of Dual-Boot was set-up, when you boot, is XP offered as an option?

You may need to find your friend again (except don't accept any "free" software this time), and ask how he put Win7 on without wiping out XP. -- Good Luck!!

Pirated Windows 7.

As has been said, we cannot help with installing any pirated software.

Are you trying to get your Windows XP back after failing to install this pirated Windows 7?

If so, the only way is to reinstall XP. That failed Win 7 setup procedure likely damaged the XP OS.

Hard way to learn that one.

But let me share that 7 not only dings (damages) the XP OS but can stump even the best as it replaces the boot areas of the drive. I don't bother anymore with boot area repair but just wipe the drive with any tool I have handy then begin the XP install.

Now about how to install XP. The good news is there are thousands of sites about that. Choose the one you like.
