I grew up around trains, and still think it's whistle is music to the ears. never understood why it has been called a "lonsesome whislte".
Now, that is a big engine! I can't say I ever saw one of that size before.
I could have missed it while reading the captions, but will it ever carry passengers again?

It was no apparition on sunny Sunday afternoon, May 7, 2006, when Union Pacific's Steam Locomotive Number 844 went steaming past Tularosa, New Mexico, blowing it's lonesome whistle.
